Who are we?
We are a subsidized school, with a single class per grade, located in the Putxet and Farró neighborhood of Barcelona. We have over 60 years of experience and, since the beginning, we have been a Catalan, secular, welcoming school, deeply rooted in the neighborhood.
At the school, we understand education from a holistic perspective. An education where the foundation is respect, which is built through knowledge, cooperation and trust. To make girls and boys empowered,, supportive,with critical thinking and the ability to form opinions,, as only in this way will they have the necessary tools to understand the world around us and work to change it.
We believe that the school and its environment are a space for global learning, that education extends beyond the walls of the classroom, and that all the people who make it up form an educational community.We want all children to actively participate in the day-to-day life of the school and be involved in its functioning.

The Team
A good teacher is one who travels alongside the child and helps them discover their own path, providing tools to face the most difficult stages and to fully enjoy the calmer moments. For a teacher to become a good travel companion, time must be dedicated to establishing a strong bond with the child and their family. It is essential for children to feel loved and recognized by the people they encounter every day when they arrive at school in order to learn how to be, do, and be present. That’s why the teaching team at the school is made up of empathetic, approachable people who love their work and have a good sense of humor.
Our educational principles
At Escola Lys, our educational principles are based on the belief that each student is unique and deserves a personalized education that fosters their maximum development. The parks near the school become learning spaces. From the youngest to the oldest, whenever possible, outdoor activities are held to bring the natural environment closer to the children. Weekly, the Orenetes (I4) and Esquirols (I5) go to Parc Putxet to do psychomotricity and nature observation.
Our school, always open to the neighborhood, participated as a founding entity of the Vil·la Urània Civic Center. It is another learning space, where every week, the Upper Cycle children use the kitchen and also utilize the auditorium to hold some celebrations and contests.
